Programming Principles
Strong stand for the vulnerable hardcore poor, vulnerable Poor women headed families, vulnerable widow, and vulnerable poor husband left women, marginalized vulnerable sections of the poor, vulnerable poor people with ethnicity, and poor sections of the people affected by disasters.
- Reduce discrimination of women at family levels and poor people at community levels through awareness raising on rights and entitlements
- Special attention to marginal and socially excluded people
- Express solidarity to rights based movements and campaigns that address problems of disadvantaged people
- Resist process and activities that ruin environment and biodiversity
- Practice cost-effective development measures
- Promote environmental friendly livelihood
- Avoid duplication or overlapping with other development agencies in terms of similar services/activities
- Perceive development as political agenda, but practice no partisan politics. However it strategically engages political institutions or parties, which take stands besides poor people.
- Promote values and culture that respect the differences in the group of gender, caste, religion and race.
- Protest such technologies which threaten the dignity and individuality of a human being or trapped him/her as a subject of experiment.
- Aims to learn from indigenous knowledge and technology.
- Promote peoples participation to perceive the experience of community people.
- Equity based development rather than growth oriented development.
