    Oxfam and JJS jointly organize an exposure visit with the participants coming from Netherlands, Cambodia, India, Myanmar and Nepal

    Oxfam and JJS jointly organize an exposure visit with the participants coming from Netherlands, Cambodia, India, Myanmar and Nepal. The exposure visit took place in Khulna which is located in disaster vulnerable south-west coastal region of Bangladesh from 26 to 27 February, 2018. Through this visit, participants experienced the process of women empowerment and water governance. The focus of this visit was to exchange views on how to improve the capacity of women leaders and community groups on gender issues.

    On 26th February 2018, a short meeting was organized with women leaders at Kamargoda canal movement in Botbunia village under Dacope upazila. In the afternoon, a short meeting was organized with water management Group (WMG) as well at Basurabad under Polder 30 on women’s participation on water governance issues in Batiaghata Upazila.

    On 27th February 2018, a meeting was organized at Tentultola village of Jolma union under Batiaghata upazila on “Establishing Rights to River Water in Tentultola and Hogladanga”.In the evening an evaluation and lessons learning session held at City Inn, Khulna for sharing their field learning and their views about the visit. Participants also gave their recommendation and they found JJS very proactive and well organized on women empowerment and water governance issues.
