JJS is implementing the project “Building capacity of civil society organizations & communities for effective engagement in trans-boundary decision-making process of Brahmaputra River” in Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur District and Kazipur Upazila of Sirajganj District supported bySaciWaters and The Asia Foundation.Under the project JJS organized a Knowledge building training session on technical (Water flows and sharing) policy, and lawsat UnnayanShangha Training Center, Jamalpurforcommunity and CSOs who’s are living in the Brahmaputra River Basin areas.Professor Dr. Mustafa Saroar, Head of Urban and Regional Planning Discipline, KUET facilitated the training session as a principal resource person.Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), Brahmaputra-Yamuna River Basis & the Drivers of Changes, Ganges Water Treaty and Bangladesh National Water Policies were discussed in this training session. Participants identified their major water related problems, integrated approach for sustainable river water management and also identified responsible authorities/organizations for negotiation and sustainable solution.
