Nari-O-Shishu Nirjatan Protirodh Forum
mainly shaped to work together for protesting and preventing
violence against women and children in the south-western region of
Bangladesh. It was formed on 4 August 2003 initially with 18
organisations from different districts of Khulna division which is
increasing gradually. NSNP is supported by Actionaid Bangladesh and
JJS works as its secretariat. This forum provides special attention
on Rape, Acid throwing, Domestic/Family violence, Sexual harassment,
and Trafficking besides others. The major activities of this forum
are:
1. Awareness creation through cultural activities, human chain, mass
gathering etc.
2. Policy advocacy with relevant authorities, legal administration,
human rights organisations
3. Provide Media support for victims
4. Counselling
5. Liaisons and networking with Manobadhikar Shangastha to get
assistance for victims
6. Capacity building of partner organisation's staff
7. Day observation like International Women Day, Begam Rokeya Day,
International Human Rights Day, CEDAW Day etc.
